Subject –
Striking and beautiful women look confidently out in these original images. Inspired by the artists own photographs and his extensive collection of clippings from vintage and recent magazines, books and films. Like the Muses of ancient times these iconic, dramatic faces inspire and motivate.
Technique –
Large original paintings in monochromatic acrylic and ink are individually scanned at very high resolution on an overhead Cruse Scanner.
Careful control of lighting enables individual brush marks to be faithfully reproduced. The scanned images are digitally coloured by hand, using an electronic brush pen, via a Wacom graphics tablet connected to an Apple Mac.
