Subject -

Images of trees and woodlands, predominantly of woods around Ross on Wye and the ancient hunting grounds of the Forest of Dean. These calm and mysterious groves of trees, stand like ancient temples of the natural world, full of magic and mystery.

Technique –

Large original paintings in monochromatic acrylic and ink are individually scanned at very high resolution on an overhead Cruse Scanner. Careful control of lighting enables individual brush marks to be faithfully reproduced. The scanned images are digitally coloured by hand, using an electronic brush pen, via a Wacom graphics tablet connected to an Apple Mac.
